What to Bring With You
Your breakfast and dinner are included. There are restaurants within a 10 minute drive, and the BBQ on Saturday afternoon, but you might want to bring lunches with you. The cottage has a fridge, coffee maker and a microwave.

The water at Homestead comes from a fresh, spring fed lake. Everyone who lives on the Lake drinks the water, but there are no guarantees that it is certified potable. If this worries you, pick up some drinking water enroute.

Did we mention this isn’t a luxury resort? You need to bring towels and all shower and grooming supplies with you. Remember: think camping, not hotel. Dishes and cooking utensils are also a good idea.

Bring dog food - it’s a good forty minute drive to the closest pet supply store. The closest store selling raw dog food is Global Pets, in Shelburne (click for map) or Spoil Me Pet Food, in Mount Forest (click for map).

What’s the fun of camping without a campfire? Homestead sells firewood, but you'll have to bring your own marshmallows!

Other stuff: sweaters/sweatshirts (May is still cold here); an extra blanket; dog crates and dishes; treats; definitely bring folding chairs for campfires and other events; literature on your dogs or your rescue group or breed club; dog food; marshmallows; baggies to pick up after your dog.

Do NOT forget dog crates!! Remember, ALL dogs must be crated when they are left alone in your cabin. As well, all campers MUST pick up after their dogs. Fail to do so, and you’ll be asked to leave (plus, we’ll all think you’re a super jerk).
