A vet technician, or some cases an assisting Veterinarian, monitors Jelly's vital signs, breathing and color while Dr. Burdiss works on her incision. Care is taken to ensure her breathing remains steady and that her vital signs remain strong. Nothing is left to chance, as the health of the mother is just as important as that of the puppies.
