If there is a second in command in our house ( I like to kid myself that I'm the first in command), it would have to be Sailor.

She is definitely the dominant girl around here, cracking that whip and making the other girls tow the line.

She's a fiesty, fearless, fierce little warrior - unafraid of anyone, or anything. This includes combines (those scarily huge tractor thingies), which she'd happy go after and tear into with her teeth, if we'd just give her the chance. She regards farm animals with a combination of loathing and excitement - "Is that a dog? A really, really big dog? I'm gonna get it." Needless to say country living has been a bit of an adjustment for her. Strange as it may seem, she's extremely gentle with cats, and she loves puppies, although she's had enough of the part where she has to feed them.

Sailor swims as well as lab, although we don't often give her the chance to do so, and she's fond of wading lakes and streams.

Sailor has a short, precise list of the things she loves: Being the only dog on mommy's lap, getting to ride in the car, hinting around that she'd really, really like to ride in the car, tap dancing across the floor, and eating cookies. Sailor's nickname is Tiny Dancer, per her tap dancing ways (which we keep meaning to catch on video).

Sailor is mommy to Delilah, Penelope and Journey, and grandmom to Dexter.
