Happy Birthday, Dread Pirate Lola!
Lola Banana – aka Lolita, aka Bullmarket Chiquita Lolita – celebrated her 11th Birthday over the weekend, and boy oh boy, can that girl party!
Even when one eyed and wearing a cone (another surgery, on her other eye – poor baby), little Miss Lola still looks simply divine and utterly fabulous. Lola, who was quite obviously a drag queen in a former life, has never met a feather boa or sparkly pink collar she would not gleefully wear, and her motto seems to be “If you’ve got it, add glitter to it”.
Shockingly, I just realized that Ms. Thing is actually a great great GREAT grandmother to Tula’s kids, and a great grandmother to Bunny’s. No babysitting, Lola – we promise.
The little brindle darling in the photos is Sushi – Penelope’s (possibly) smarter sister, who has discovered that you can abstain from motherhood and still achieve spoiled diva-dom. Way to go, girlfriend.
Photos below the cut.
My girl punctured her eyeball last week and is running around with a cone too. Is the patch you have just for fun? I’d love to be able to take the cone off her when she’s under direct supervision, but I don’t dare without something to protect the eye.
We’re off to OVC for our recheck today – hoping that everything is healing as expected. She was very, very close to losing the eye.
Haha, I had to read this one just for the title. I’ve never heard of a dog birthday party before. That’s too funny. Great pictures!

Aw, happy birthday, beautiful Lola! Hope you have many, many more to come.
P.S. Do you think you can talk some sense in to my little Frenchie guy? He absolutely refuses to wear anything other than a collar… including a coat when it’s snowing and below zero.
Ha ha! So great! I really do think that Lola was a drag queen in another life.. 🙂
Good news on the eye front – Lola got her stitches and lens out today and only has to wear the cone when no one’s around, just while she finishes healing up. The surgery was successful, and I got her a pair of Doggles for her birthday to help protect her remaining eye while she’s catching frisbees and getting blindsided (literally) by Sushi, who is quite the little maniac! Sushi’s not so good with spacial relations – Cute as a button – but objects in her mirror are *always* closer than they appear.
Oh, what a beauty. I love seeing pics of my frenchies’ relatives. In this case, Lola is a great, great, aunt to my Zoe. Happy Birthday Princess Lola!
Happy Happy Birthday Lola and many more!!!! You are too sweet!
The Dread Pirate Lola! Now I have conflicting songs in my head (Kinks battling Barry Manilow)
